Building a new home should be enjoyable. That’s why our 6-step ‘Build on Your Lot’ process is designed to make custom home construction simple and stress-free. Don’t have land yet? We help North Florida buyers find the right property and start building with confidence.

1. Pick a Plan & Personalize It

Start by visiting our showroom for a personal design consultation and exploring our collection of sixteen-plus floor plans. After choosing the plan that feels right, select your elevation and customize the features you love. As a North Florida custom home builder, we help you design an affordable, personalized home that fits your style and the way you live.

2. Find Land

Don’t have land yet? No worries—we partner with local real estate experts who can help you find property in the North Florida county you want to call home. If you already have land, we offer a FREE Land Evaluation to confirm your home plan fits your lot and to collect the information needed for a precise cost estimate. Building on your lot starts with the right land, and we make that step simple.

3. Get a Cost Estimate & Secure Financing

After you’ve selected your land and home plan, we’ll prepare a free cost estimate so you know exactly what to expect. Understanding the full investment of building on your lot allows you to personalize your home with upgrades—or make adjustments to stay comfortably within budget.

As a trusted North Florida custom home builder, Red Door Homes works with a wide range of mortgage lenders, banks, credit unions, and Farm Credit partners. We’ll help connect you with the financing solution that fits your goals.

4. Pre-Construction Meeting

When your financing is approved and your construction loan closes, we move into pre-construction. During this stage, your home plans are finalized, permits are submitted, and purchase orders are prepared—bringing your build on your lot project to life.

Next, a member of our Production Department will meet with you to go over your customized construction plans. We explain every detail, answer all your questions, and make sure you understand exactly how your home will take shape. With Red Door Homes, you’re supported and informed at every step.

5. Begin Construction

Watch your new home be built from the ground up. After your permit is approved, the construction phase generally takes about 240 days, depending on your floor plan and the finishes you’ve chosen. As your trusted North Florida custom home builder, we keep you updated every step of the way.

6. New Home Walkthrough

Once your home is complete and a Certificate of Occupancy is issued, we schedule a New Home Demonstration about four to five business days before move-in. During this walkthrough, we introduce you to the features of your new home, explain how everything operates, and ensure every detail reflects the vision you brought to your custom home builder. And then comes the best part—move-in day!
